Texture Glossary

Alpaca - soft and drapey natural fluffy fleece locks from family farms and local small mills.

Bamboo - a soft and shiny faux-silk made from sustainably grown bamboo trees, locally sourced.

Cloud - texture that has been run thru a wool picker to "open" it up into an airy cloud. Ready to spin.

Cotton "Feathers" - 100% recycled cotton that pulls apart to create feathers available in natural or dyed tones for airy heather or tweed effects. Not actual feathers.

Cotton Nepps - hand-dyed flecks and dots of zero-waste cotton. Neauveau Exclusive.

Eucalyptus Crimp Silk - a crimpy and bright faux-silk made from sustainably grown eucalyptus trees, with an excellent halo and luster. Dyed exclusively by Neauveau.

Kapok - a water-resistant downy seed pod fiber.

Mohair - shiny and luminescent goat fiber that creates a transluscent halo effect.

Recycled Thread - shorter cut warp ends for blending and carding scrappy textures.

Rescued Yarn - novelty yarn rescued from textile waste and cut in longer lengths.

Selvage - fringe edges of upholstery fabric from a local mill. Used for weaving rugs and spinning bulky shaggy yarns

Sparkle - Angelina straight cut or crimp cut manufactured in the USA.

Wool Locks - natural or dyed curly, fine, or rare breeds from farms and mills.

Wool Mallows - cut marshmallows of wool top that create a fuzzy texture.

Wool Nepps - dots of fine wool, a zero-waste byproduct of wool manuacturing.

Wool Thread Cloud - 100% recycled wool yarn ends cut and carded by a mill.
